vawongsir graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University and was a visual arts teacher in Hong Kong, known for his political comics. Following the implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law, the Hong Kong Education Bureau accused him of drawing "inappropriate" comics, leading to allegations of professional misconduct. He later went into exile in Taiwan. His art has been featured in "Green Bean Media" in the UK and "Flow HK" in Taiwan. He has exhibited his work in Hong Kong, Dublin, London, Sweden, and Taiwan. In 2023, he won first prize at the Hualien Art Exhibition in Taiwan for his piece "Chopsticks+."
vawongsir畢業於香港浸會大學視覺藝術院,曾任香港中學視覺藝術科教師。2020年港區國安法生效後,作品被香港政府認為涉及反政府題材,教育局因此裁定專業失德,並導致失去教職。此外,中國大陸媒體對其作品進行抨擊,聲稱煽動仇恨情緒。2022年,vawongsir被迫流亡至台灣。目前,作品活躍於《綠豆》、《如水》等海外香港媒體。出版插畫集包括《假如讓我畫下去》、《我在老地方等你》、《加多雙筷》,並曾在香港、都柏林、倫敦、瑞典、台灣等地舉行個人及聯合作品展。2023年,憑藉作品《加多雙筷》獲台灣洄瀾美展首獎「洄瀾獎」。
